Welcome the Irish Farmhands and House Servants! As an Irish worker, help with planting, animal care, and other barnyard chores. At The Willows, try your hand as an irish maid to do spring cleaning. Throughout the afternoon, experience Irish culture via food, dance,music and a family-friendly craft.

During a special, hands-on guided tour, learn about the domestic help at the Fosters' home, The Willows, during the WWI era. Help the maid with some household chores. At the end of the tour assist in the preparation of historic foods for the cook to bake in the wood-burning stove.

See how rugs were made by "rug hooking" Loopa of yarn or fabric are pulled through a woven base using a hook. Cooper Mill will host demostrations of this colonial skill, crafts and tours.

Discover early industries along the Black River with industrial archeologist, Joe Macasek. This is a 3 mile, moderate walk along the Hackelbarney Branch of the railroad, lower mill pond, mid 1800's iron mining and bloomer forge, and Kay's dam. Meet at Cooper Gristmill parking lot.

Tour Cooper Gristmill and watch demontrations of tools powered by hands and feet. See a foot-powered scroll saw, one- and two-man saws, angular boring machine, stone jack, treadle sewing machines, and hand drills. Try some tools yourself.
