Samson Dingle (Sam Hall) had some vile words to say in response to the news of Lydia’s (Karen Blick) rape in Emmerdale.

This week, after telling her family about the ordeal, Lydia decided that she would go to the police and report Craig (Ben Addis).

Tonight (October 13), in the concluding part of Super Soap Week, Lydia entered a police interview room and told the officer about her attack.

She revealed that she had known Craig for a long time, and that he tried to come onto her. In emotional scenes, Lydia said that she wasn’t sure how many times she said no, but she is certain that she said it once – and Craig failed to listen.

Back at home, Lydia chose to tell Samson about the rape. Supported by Sam (James Hooton), Lydia explained the she stopped Samson’s work experience because of the ordeal, but wasn’t prepared for the way he responded to her news.

Rather than believing Lydia and taking her side, Samson was too focused on the fact he viewed Craig as a kind and helpful man. He tried to tell Lydia that she might’ve got things wrong, and then insensitively asked where the rape took place.

Lydia revealed that it happened in Craig’s office but made it crystal clear that if it occurred in her bed, it still would’ve been rape because she said no.

Outside, Sam confronted Samson about his utterly horrific words. Clearly the teenager had been manipulated by Craig and was struggling to accept that he was capable of the heinous crime. He, once again, prioritised his own emotions and said that Craig hadn’t done anything wrong to him, but Sam reminded his son that Lydia was most certainly the focus in this situation.

Returning to the house, Samson apologised and said to Lydia that he believes her.

As conversation turned to the police investigation, Lydia started to wonder if Craig would actually face the consequences for his actions. While she pointed out to Sam that Craig is incredibly good at manipulating someone and turning on the charm, we saw two police officers arrive at his place of work and take Craig away.

But will he get away with it?

Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) is on a path to self destruction in Emmerdale, and absolutely doesn’t care who he hurts along the way.

The beloved character made a return this week and was being held hostage by Cain (Jeff Hordley) and Caleb (William Ash) in an abandoned farmhouse.

Essentially, the Aaron who left the village after Liv’s (Isobel Steele) death is completely different to the one we see now. He is spiralling after getting involved in some dodgy jobs in Italy and is also struggling to process his grief after losing his sister.

Not only that, but he also looks at mum Chas (Lucy Pargeter) like a piece of dirt on his shoe, believing that if it wasn’t for her and Al’s (Michael Wildman) affair, Liv would’ve never been in the village during the storm, and therefore might still be alive today.

After Chas was kidnapped by Harry (Robert Beck), we picked up the story with Cain and Caleb preparing to meet him at a wasteground. It was a simple plan – give Harry the money, get Chas back.

But then Aaron got involved.

After managing to convince Vinny (Bradley Johnson) to let him out of the farmhouse, Aaron jumped in a car to find Cain, Caleb and Harry.

As they tried to negotiate, Chas was let out of the boot.

Harry was very close to getting his money and letting Chas go, but Aaron then zoomed into the scene, drove into Harry and sent him flying.

As far as Aaron was concerned, he had arrived to get the money and leave – he didn’t care about Chas.

Fortunately, after a comment from Cain about Liv, Aaron handed the money back which meant Chas could return home safely.

Back in the village, as Chas reeled from what had unfolded, Aaron was confronting Cain.

Aaron said that if Cain got in his way in the future, he would ‘end’ him.

Cain was clearly concerned as to what Aaron could be capable of, but will he intervene in his life again, and possibly face the consequences?

Newcomer Amit Sharma (Anil Goutam) arrived in the Emmerdale village with the intention of spending time with Suni (Brahmdeo Shannon Ramana), who had just discovered that Jai (Chris Bisson) is actually his brother and not his cousin.

However, when Amit stepped foot in Rishi’s (Bhasker Patel) old home, it was clear he had more on his mind than his two sons.

The scenes at Holdgate saw Amit suffer a panic attack. This left Suni confused, given he was under the impression his dad had never been in the house before.

The ITV soap was clearly hinting at the fact Amit had been in the Dales recently and tonight (October 13), it was confirmed he was there during Rishi’s final moments.

Back at Holdgate with Suni, Amit stood at the bottom of the stairs and recalled the argument he had with Rishi before he died.

The confronation – which also involved Amit grabbing Rishi’s shirt – happened because the secret surrounding Jai’s adoption had been exposed.

‘He simply lost his balance’, Amit said, just as the scene cut away.

When the storyline was picked up again later in the episode, Suni wondered why Amit never called an ambulance for Rishi.

The new face said that Rishi was already dead and knew that if he called for help, it would look terrible on his part as they were ‘warring brothers’ with one sibling claiming the fall was a ‘freak accident’.

Struggling to process the news, Suni left, but a desperate Amit followed and said that he needs to keep it a secret because if not, people will talk and he doesn’t want anyone thinking he’s a killer.

Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) has had enough of life in the Emmerdale village as upcoming episodes will see him depart – one week after his return.

Following the news that Cain (Jeff Hordley) and Caleb (William Ash) were holding someone hostage in a farmhouse, the person in question was revealed to be Aaron.

The beloved character has a dark cloud hanging over him after trouble in Italy and Liv’s (Isobel Steele) death last year. He also has a lot of hate and anger towards his mum Chas (Lucy Pargeter), convinced that if she didn’t have her affair with Al, Liv would’ve never been in the village during the storm, and might be alive today.

Tonight, in the final instalment of Super Soap Week, Aaron managed to escape the farmhouse after tricking Vinny (Bradley Johnson).

He then made his way to a wasteground to interrupt Caleb and Cain, who were trying to get Harry (Robert Beck) to release a kidnapped Chas.

Failing to think about his traumatised mum, Aaron drove a car into Harry and sent him flying. He had the bag of money and told Caleb and Cain that he’d be leaving and will use the cash to pay for a holiday.

However, after a comment from Cain about Liv, Aaron changed his mind and handed back the money, allowing Chas to walk free.

Back in the village, Aaron confronted Cain and said that if he intervenes again, he’ll take action.

Coming up, Paddy (Dominic Brunt) is taken aback by Aaron’s vitriol when he talks about Paddy’s attempt at ending his life.

It’s clear that Paddy is hurt, but refuses to give up on Aaron and his words seemingly hit the mark with him.

Later on, at the pub, Aaron spots the family toasting to Faith (Sally Dexter) and is upset to realise he wasn’t invited.

Taking action, Aaron grabs some money from the till and leaves.

Out in the village, Aaron is traumatised by the agonising memory of his sister.

When Vinny finds Aaron, they get talking but he ends up touching a nerve, prompting Aaron to get into his car and leave.

But is this the last we’ve seen of him?

Emmerdale fans were blown away earlier this week when Aaron Dingle made an unannounced return, with actor Danny Miller reprising his iconic role.

Aaron, who made his final appearance last year, was revealed to be the mystery prisoner that Cain (Jeff Hordley) and Caleb Milligan (William Ash) were keeping captive up at Wylie’s farm.

The character had got involved in dodgy dealings in Italy, with Cain and Caleb undertaking the secret mission of rescuing him, taking him back home to the village against his will.

Aaron’s comeback was certainly a huge shock, taking viewers by surprise.

The popular character left the village in 2021 after actor Danny decided to say goodbye to the show. He reprised his role for a number of episodes last year as part of Emmerdale’s 50th anniversary, before departing once more, which is why his latest return left fans in shock.

Discussing how this new return story came about, actor Danny told us: ‘Jane [Hudson, Executive Producer] and Laura [Shaw, Producer] pitched the idea to come back I was over the moon and so excited and they said: “There’s something we want to do with it which means you’ll have to keep it quiet.”

‘This was back at the beginning of the year so this has been months of not being able to tell people and relocating and not being able to tell people.

‘Some of my closest friends and family don’t even know what I’ve been up to. It was hard to do but obviously I respected it.

‘My appreciation for the show meant that I wanted to keep the secret and I wanted to be part of something that will be a soap shocking moment.’

Danny also explained why he said yes to Emmerdale this time around, revealing that he ‘enjoyed’ the time away from the show and felt honoured for the opportunity to return.

‘I did I’m A Celeb which was something I always wanted to do,’ he continued.’I had the opportunity to go and do various other shows off the back of that. I left for time with my family, which you often don’t get to do because it’s very busy.

‘I feel I’ve achieved a lot in my time away but when the offer came to get back in I was very thankful. This is for my family and I feel very honoured.’

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.

Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) recently found himself keeping more secrets from partner Moira Barton (Natalie J Robb) in Emmerdale.

As Cain and Caleb (William Ash) continued their sneaking around, we eventually discovered they were holding someone hostage in an abandoned farmhouse.

And at the start of Super Soap Week, that person was confirmed to be Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller), who is spiralling after trouble in Italy and the death of sister Liv (Isobel Steele).

Elsewhere, Mandy (Lisa Riley), Belle (Eden Taylor-Draper) and Sam (James Hooton) have been supporting Lydia (Karen Blick) in the aftermath of her rape.

Despite the Dingle clan being chaotic, sometimes violent and usually up to no good, the past few weeks have taught us that family continues to be incredibly important to them all.

In upcoming scenes of the ITV soap, the strong bond the Dingles have will be highlighted in an instalment that just focuses on this family.

Jeff Hordley, who has played Cain since 2000, has been reflecting on what it was like to film with all of his co-stars over the course of some very busy days.

‘It was about 6 or 7 days of being together. It was intense, it was chaotic, it was funny but it was ultimately brilliant. I think it’s a really exciting few episodes that we’ve got coming up there’, he said.

‘We’ve got Gary Williams, who’s a fantastic director, bringing all of this particular story together and you just know it’s going to be great. He’s just a really fantastic director.’

Joining Jeff for the chat was William Ash, who has played Caleb Milligan for nearly a year.

‘They’re interesting scenes when everyone’s involved!’, he laughed.

‘The scripts for that were, I think, particularly good. Sometimes you can never tell on the page but once we started playing all those scenes with everyone…

‘There was a nice balance there when we were doing it. It was hard work but also there was quite a lot of humour in between scenes and stuff, with everyone. We were playing a lot of games and stuff.’

Pondering over the current difficult dynamic between Cain and Moira and whether they’ll get back on track, Jeff said:

‘I would have thought so, but it’s a difficult one because of what happened last year with the whole Al thing. We’re always on shaky ground when Cain starts to lie to Moira again, but sometimes needs must. I think they’ll be fine. I don’t envisage any major upset. But I think to be able to tell stories he needs to keep his DNA intact so there will be the odd…

‘As long as it’s not a big thing like an affair, that would be the end. As long as it’s just a little white lie it’ll be fine. In Cain’s chopped logic he’s doing this for Aaron. Everything that Cain does, ultimately in his mind is always for the good of the family.’

As Aaron’s returning storyline kicks off, William has also spoke about the relationship between Caleb and his new nephew.

‘Caleb and Aaron really brush up against each other in a bad way’, he explained.

‘Because Caleb’s also now got what was his house as well. There’s a lot of conflict there. And Caleb is quite protective of Chas and seeing how Aaron behaves towards her, Caleb takes an immediate dislike to him.

‘I think he says something along the lines of “You don’t want me as your enemy.” I think Caleb’s quite happy for him to be like that, but he’ll have a problem with Caleb if he carries on…’

If we’re honest, we don’t entirely know what to make of Tom King (James Chase) in Emmerdale.

Since his return to the Dales earlier this year, he’s focused on reuniting with his former love, Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper), but things have been a bit up and down for the couple. Initially it looked like Tom wouldn’t be able to accept Belle’s mental health issues, but he quickly came to terms with that and it seemed like a rosy future was in prospect.

Recently they made the decision to move in together – with Tom seeming keener than Belle to push that particular plan forward. Possibly he was only trying to reassure Belle of his devotion towards her after she became jealous that he was paying too much attention to Dawn (Olivia Bromley).

While on one side Tom seems lovely and is often the one to help people out or smooth over an awkward situation, there have also been times when his behaviour has seemed odd. He reacted violently, lashing out at Belle when his car was stolen for example.

And there have been some instances where he’s behaved in quite a controlling way with her, such as being jealous over her closeness to Vinny (Bradley Johnson).

Tom had a difficult past. His father Carl King (Tom Lister) was murdered in 2012 and Tom blamed Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) for his killing. He made Chas’s life hell with a campaign of stalking until he eventually left the village for Saudi Arabia with his mum.

It looked like he’d put that difficult past behind him as he settled into the village, working alongside Paddy (Dominic Brunt), Rhona (Zoe Henry) and Dawn at the vet’s, reconciling with his uncle Jimmy (Nick Miles) and the rest of the family and of course making a go of things with Belle.

But there’s an odd edge to Tom and in coming episodes Belle begins to question what’s going through his mind as she senses that something is ‘off’ about him. He’s moody and subdued – and Belle is determined to get to the bottom of what’s going on.

He seems like a smooth operator who is able to hold it together, but a dark secret is threatening to overwhelm businessman Amit Sharma (Anil Goutam) in Emmerdale.

He has arrived in the village following Suni’s (Brahmdeo Shannon Ramana) discovery that cousin Jai (Chris Bisson) is actually his brother.

Amit has a lot of explaining to do, and is keen to make things up with Suni.

However, when he arrived at Jai’s home that he shared with the man he thought was his dad, Rishi, Amit was left in a panic.

Fixing his eyes on the spot at the foot of the stairs where Rishi died, Amit was visibly unnerved, despite Suni’s understanding that his dad had never been on the house before.

As the pair sat together, Amit tried to explain how things had happened in the past and how his love for Georgia came about.

There appeared to be a thawing between them but, when Amit caught sight of the stair case again, he was left desperately trying to catch his breath as he sank to the floor.

Suni was shocked and wanted to call an ambulance, believing Amit was having a heart attack.

But Amit started to compose himself and tried to play down his symptoms.

Suni wasn’t having it, commenting that he had never seen his dad lose control again.

He also picked up on Amit declaring that he should ‘never have come back here’.

While he tried to persuade Suni that it was a slip of the tongue, he had let it slip that this wasn’t his first time in the house.

So why the lie, and why the panic?

Given the promise of a dark secret being held by Amit, the leading theory is that Rishi didn’t just fall, he was killed by his brother.

If this is indeed the case, the turbulence for the Sharma family has barely even begun.

Brave Lydia Dingle (Karen Blick) has delivered a perfect show of strength as she stood up to her vile rapist Craig Reid (Ben Addis) in Emmerdale.

Lydia recently confided in husband Sam (James Hooton) that she had been attacked by her ex, and it led to him marching to Craig’s offices.

Full of hatred and fury, Sam was unable to keep his emotions in check, so when Craig was nowhere to be found, he rampaged around the workplace, looking everywhere for him.

He was followed around by Craig’s colleague who insisted that he was away in Leeds, but Sam refused to leave until he had seen Craig.

He eventually arrived, and Sam immediately confronted him, with Craig instantly gaslighting him, attempting to imply that Lydia was playing him for a fool.

Sam has no doubt in his beloved wife whatsoever, so stood his ground and spelt out to Craig (and his listening receptionist) what he had done.

Craig threatened to call security as Sam lunged at him, pulled back by a newly arrived Mandy (Lisa Riley).

Lydia was also present and composed, staring Craig right in the eye and telling him very clearly that they both know what he did, and what that makes him.

Manipulative Craig looked visibly taken aback as he tried to maintain his defiance, and his nastier streak started to show when he told Lydia that his lawyers would run rings around her.

Lydia branded him a coward as he demanded proof, and when Sam shoved him again, Craig threatened to call the police.

But Lydia was ready for this, and coolly told him to go ahead, she was very prepared to talk to the police.

Craig’s face drained of colour as he realised she wasn’t bluffing and, as she left with Sam and Mandy by her side, she shot back that he would be going to prison for what he did – she’d make sure of it!

For the first time, Craig is very worried that he might not be getting away with his deplorable actions.

Next week, police will question him and, while Lydia is dismayed to see him released on bail, fellow survivor Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry) is there for her and offers support.

It was miraculous that she even survived, but Chloe Harris (Jessie Elland) is far from out of the woods, as she fights for her life in hospital.

Mack Boyd (Lawrence Robb) had pulled his ex Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) to safety, leaving Chloe to plunge down a ravine in a mangled car.

She was rushed to hospital and Mack and Charity have been left anxiously waiting for news.

Well, in between glancing at one another with knowing and guilty looks.

Chloe was rushed into surgery on her brain, with Mack panicking that she wouldn’t make it through this.

Amy and Matty (Natalie Ann Jamieson and Ash Palmisciano) arrived to visit her, and assured Mack that there was nothing more he could have done.

When Chloe came out of surgery, Mack and Amy were informed that she had been placed in an induced coma.

She was being monitored and likely to be brought round in a few days, depending on the swelling.

But there was a concerning warning that brain damage may be a possibility.

Mack went in to speak to Chloe and was taken aback by how frail and vulnerable she looked.

He told her how sorry he was and, kissing her on the head, he told her that he loves her.

Back in the waiting room, Amy asked if he had known what to say to her as it had been hard for her, and Charity mentally noted that Mack didn’t tell her anything he said.

When Mack and Charity were left alone once more, Charity quizzed him over what this means for them – his choice to save her must be a sign of something.

Mack unconvincingly shut this down, describing his decision as a reflex, but Charity stirred the pot by suggesting that it was instinct because of how he feels about her.

An air of uncertainty hangs over the air – will Chloe survive and, if so, in what condition will she wake up in?

And will Mack and Charity really pursue their attraction with all of this going on?

Danny Miller has weighed in on the possibility of a reunion for Aaron Dingle and Robert Sugden following his return to Emmerdale.

The actor staged a shocking and unannounced return to the ITV soap earlier this week, as Aaron was confirmed to be Cain’s mystery captive up at Wylie’s Farm.

Fans were ecstatic to see Aaron back where he belongs, with speculation on whether or not we’ll see him reunited with soulmate Robert subsequently commencing.

‘Every day I still get messages from people saying, “Bring back Robron!’ – I’m amazed!”‘ he told Inside Soap. ‘I’d love to work with Ryan again but it’s just a case of whether I can talk him round.’

Make it happen!

Robert and Aaron, known as Robron to fans, were torn apart back in 2019 when their love story ultimately ended in tragedy after Ryan made the decision to leave the show.

Robert’s final scenes saw him jailed after he was arrested by the police, turning himself in for the the attack on Lee Posner, who had raped his sister Victoria Barton.

Aaron was destroyed by the way in which Robert subsequently handled divorce proceedings, but he later received an apology from his former beau, giving him the closure he needed. 

The character remained on the show for a number of years, experiencing more tragedy after his boyfriend Ben Tucker (Simon Lennon) was murdered by killer Meena Jutla (Paige Sandhu), which ultimately led to him departing the village.

Aaron staged a brief return last year for Emmerdale’s 50th anniversary, which led to further heartbreak after his sister Liv Flaherty (Isobel Steele) was killed by a flying caravan amid a deadly storm.

He subsequently left the village again, but not before disowning mum Chas (Lucy Pargeter) over her sordid and cruel affair with Al Chapman (Michael Wildman), which inadvertently played a role in the reason why Liv was out exploring when the killer winds hit.

With Aaron back on our screens, and tensions unresolved between he and his mum, it’s likely that there’s going to be even more drama to come.

Chas Dingle’s life hangs in the balance in Emmerdale, as violent criminal Harry (Robert Beck) has her as his hostage – and it’s very clear that he is capable of killing her.

As Harry’s intentions towards her became clear, Chas realised how much danger she was in – and the next that we saw was blood on the ground.

Harry made a sinister call, mocking Chas for believing his ruse that he fancied her before confirming ‘it’s done’.

It seemed for a while that this had sealed Chas’ fate but she remains alive as tonight’s episode opens – for now.

Bound up and gagged in the boot of Harry’s car, it’s not looking good for her.

But Harry’s motives rest on Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) and Caleb Miligan (William Ash).

He is keen to remain a part of their business, seeing the company is a great way to make illegal cash.

As the true nature of Harry, who was arranging the sale of guns, became clear, Cain and Caleb ensured that they got out of the situation.

Or so they thought.

Discovering that Chas is being held prisoner by the gangster, they race to the rescue.

They might well be heading into a trap, but they have no choice if they want to save Chas.

But what will their next move be?

Lucy Pargeter is glad to be filming another meaty storyline, but we can’t help notice that it’s piling more and more misery on her alter-ego.

But the actress reckons that fans still won’t be on her side, given what she did to Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt).

‘I don’t know if she needs payback from the soap gods or the viewers, but I can’t see the viewers forgiving her!’ she mused.

Meanwhile, William Ash addressed the tense episodes ahead, admitting that Cain and Caleb fear the worst for their sister.

‘They’re definitely frightened for Chas,’ he told us. ‘Because he’s got guns and stuff like that. That’s how they got involved with him, because he was using Caleb’s car firm to transport guns.’

‘He’s got much more edge, I think, than Caleb and Cain have. They’re kind of out of our depth with something like that.’

With Aaron (Danny Miller) also back on the scene, will Chas’ peril override his hate for her, and will he help Cain and Caleb track down Harry?

Danny hinted that the money Aaron has stolen may play a part in ending the situation, but it still may be a turbulent future for he and Chas.

‘We know there’s hopefully eventually going to be a reunion and a rekindling of that relationship,’ the returnee reasoned.

‘We’re so used to playing nice scenes with each other where she was supportive and he was protective and respectful, and if anyone looked the wrong way in her direction he’d snap and protect her. Whereas now it’s the opposite.

‘It’s almost like she’s a stranger to him and he can’t stand everything she’s done. He can’t understand the fact that she’s now very sorry and remorseful for what’s happened. He thinks it’s a bit too late.

‘They’re colliding together in a very angry relationship but hoping there’s light at the end of the tunnel, which I’m sure there will be at some point.’

Emmerdale airs the scenes of Chas’ peril on Thursday October 11 at 7:30pm on ITV.

Cain supports a struggling Sam. With Cain in his ear, Sam is left wondering whether he can bring Craig to justice.

Caleb and Amit size each other up as they meet for dinner. Nicky and Suni exchange looks, hoping certain things won’t come out.

Caleb, Suni, Amit and Nicky eat together. As they discuss their respective sons, but there’s some bristling between Amit and Caleb.

Nicky is taken aback when Amit questions his relationship with Gabby and the atmosphere turns icy as Caleb and Nicky make a hasty exit.

Thursday October 19

Sam is full of admiration and sympathy as Lydia returns from her counselling session. The love between the couple is undeniable.

Meanwhile, Vinny is conflicted.

Belle senses that something is off with a subdued Tom.

Cain and Moira Dingle (Jeff Hordley and Natalie J Robb) haven’t had the best year in Emmerdale, but it seems that things may be set to get back on track for the popular couple.

Moira has been left frustrated by Cain’s secrets and lies in recent weeks, and it became clear this week exactly what he had been up to when Moira was taken to see Aaron (Danny Miller) in the barn.

Despite the rocky road they’ve been on, actor Jeff Hordley is full of positivity for their future.

‘It’s a difficult one because of what happened last year with the whole Al thing. They’re always on shaky ground when Cain starts to lie to Moira again, but sometimes needs must.

‘I think they’ll be fine. I don’t envisage any major upset. But I think to be able to tell stories he needs to keep his DNA intact so there will be the odd… As long as it’s not a big thing like an affair, that would be the end. As long as it’s just a little white lie it’ll be fine.

‘In Cain’s chopped logic he’s doing this for Aaron. Everything that Cain does, ultimately in his mind is always for the good of the family.’

Speaking of family, this year has seen Cain grow much closer to brother Caleb Milligan (William Ash), who has served as his right hand man during their plot to rescue Aaron.

Though we have seen Caleb seek revenge against the Tate side of his family, actor William Ash has assured us that his relationship with the Dingles will remain solid.

‘I think Caleb absolutely wants to have a connection with Cain and Chas (Lucy Pargeter),’ he explained.

‘He’s never had a family, being brought up in care and all that. I think he’s always been genuine. I think this relationship now is 100% on solid ground for him. He’s really happy about where they are now. He’s not got an ulterior motive at all.’

Because of their close relationship as siblings, both Cain and Caleb have been left fearing for the life of sister Chas after learning that she had been kidnapped by mutual enemy Harry (Robert Beck).

According to Will, the brothers are both ‘definitely’ frightened.

‘Because he’s got guns and stuff like that. That’s how they got involved with him, because he was using Caleb’s car firm to transport guns.

‘It’s not really Caleb’s area of expertise at all and I don’t think it’s ever impinged on Cain’s world, guns and probably drugs as well. It’s that world that he operates in.

‘He’s got much more edge, I think, than Cain and Caleb have. They’re kind of out of their depth with something like that.’

It’s really not looking good for Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) in Emmerdale – after dangerous gangster Harry (Robert Beck) suggested that he had killed her.

Pretending to be a smooth man named Simon, Harry has manipulated Chas into what she thinks is a romantic relationship.

But he is just using her to get revenge on Cain (Jeff Hordley) and their brother Caleb Miligan (William Ash).

Chas is oblivious, and thinking she is finally getting some good in her life, but Harry took her for a drive, and things quickly got dangerous.

It started to dawn on Chas how serious her situation was but by then, it was too late.

With Nate (Jurell Carter) having spotted Harry with Chas, he warned a very concerned Cain and Caleb, and the race was on to find her.

‘They’re definitely frightened for Chas,’ William Ash told us. ‘Because he’s got guns and stuff like that. That’s how they got involved with him, because he was using Caleb’s car firm to transport guns.

‘He’s got much more edge, I think, than Caleb and Cain have. They’re kind of out of our depth with something like that.’

Time is not on their side, and things got even more sinister, when Chas was nowhere to be seen.

With Harry on the phone, declaring Chas a ‘stupid cow’ and declaring, ‘it’s done’, there was blood on the ground.

Something bad has happened to Chas – but just how serious it is remains to be seen.

Is this the end of the line for her?

Or can Cain and Caleb rescue her?

Mack Boyd (Lawrence Robb) has made his choice in Emmerdale – and it’s catastrophic news for the mother of his child, Chloe Harris (Jessie Elland).

He was faced with a painful decision when the car she and Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) were trapped in teetered over a cliff edge.

Mack had a mere moment to grab someone’s hand and, in what might not be a huge surprise to fans, he pulled Charity to safety.

Chloe’s face was a picture of devastation, before she then plummeted out of sight, crashing in a wreckage at the foot of the ravine.

Charity and Mack’s relief was short-lived as he ran forward to see if he could save Chloe, but Charity pulled him back from the edge to safety.

She seemed pretty resigned to the fact that Chloe was dead, but Mack eventually made his way down.

Chloe had been flung out of the car and was in a seriously bad way – but miraculously, she was still alive.

She stirred slightly as Mack assured her that she was going to be okay. However, he soon noticed that she had been impaled on a shard of the vehicle and was bleeding extremely heavily.

He held the wound to stem the flow, while Charity waved down a rescue helicopter.

The paramedic told Mack that Chloe had stabilised but was far from out of the woods as she was rushed to hospital.

As they left, Mack’s face was a picture of guilt – he had let the woman he was meant to be spending the rest of his life with drop, instead saving the estranged wife he had recently cheated with.

Charity assured him that it was just instinct and there was nothing behind it, but Mack shut her down and told her they both knew that this wasn’t true.

‘It was a choice.’

The pair stood in pondering and haunting silence as they digested what this meant – Mack loves Charity more than Chloe.

But is this the end of Chloe? Or will she come round and confront both Mack’s cheating and his choice to save Charity over her?

Sam Dingle (James Hooton) has been at a loss over how to deal with Lydia Dingle’s (Karen Blick) rape in Emmerdale, unable to cope with Craig walking free in the village.

With Lydia having made it clear that she doesn’t want to go to the police after confiding her ordeal in her husband, Sam wants to deal with Craig himself.

After opening up to Sam, he told her he wasn’t sure how to help, and she assured him that he already was by supporting her.

She insisted that he didn’t go ‘full-on Dingle’ with Craig, but he has been unable to follow through with this.

Snapping, he stormed out of the Dingle house, intent on tracking down Lydia’s vile attacker.

Mandy (Lisa Riley) pleaded with him to stop, as Lydia was contemplating going to the police after all, but there was no getting through to him and he arrived at Craig’s workplace, clearly intent on causing him serious harm – or worse.

The receptionist asked if Craig was expecting Sam, to which he replied, ‘he should be.’

Just how far will Sam go? Can anyone stop him? Or will he do something he might end up regretting?

Next week, Lydia is horrified when Craig is released on bail by police, but finds support in fellow survivor Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry).

Sam invites Rhona back to the house where a defeated Lydia is sifting through crisis leaflets. She sits with Lydia and gives her the space to talk to someone who understands, Rhona has been through this herself before.

Sam listens in, hoping this could be the breakthrough Lydia needs.

Could Rhona be the key to helping a tormented Lydia confront her ordeal?

As for Craig, the more he gets away with it, the more danger from the Dingles he is in…

When Emmerdale aired the unexpected scene which saw our beloved Rishi Sharma (Bhasker Patel) dead at the foot of the stairs, it was one of soap’s most talked about moments all year.

We hadn’t seen it coming and the tragic accident spelled the end of the character after 12 years.

Well, we say tragic accident…

The Sharma clan has been hit with many twists this year so far, from the sudden death of Rishi to the revelation that Jai is actually the brother of Suni (Brahmdeo Shannon Ramana), not cousin.

But the biggest yet was very blatantly hinted at, as a recent scene appeared to suggest that Jai and Suni’s newcomer dad, Amit (Anil Goutam), was involved in his death.

He paid a visit to Jai’s home to talk to him and Suni, wanting to build bridges after holding the family secret all their lives.

He was impressed with the house, but has he been in it before?

He stopped deadly still at the sight of the staircase, with the camera panning right to where Rishi died, with a sinister incidental drum beat in the background.

Amit gave a visible reaction to look at the area, pretty much confirming he has seen it before in less than savoury consequences.

We all think that Rishi fell – but could he have been given a helping hand?

It has already been confirmed that Amit has a dark side and is withholding another game-changing secret after all.

Producer Laura Shaw recently told Metro.co.uk: ‘Obviously, we found out not so long ago that Rishi was actually not Jai’s biological father, and actually Jai’s father is Amit, who is Rishi’s brother and Suni’s father.

‘So, clearly, we weren’t going to leave that one hanging for too long before we brought Amit in.

‘What you’ll see with Amit is quite a dark and complex character, and although we see Suni wanting to stick around, could Suni end up regretting that?

‘Is Amit hiding another secret that threatens to blow the whole family apart?’

Future storyline details confirm this is very much the case, with actor Anil adding more intrigue to us.

‘To me, [the secret] allows an insight into Amit, which, when you first meet him, you wouldn’t guess is this person,’ he mused. ‘There is a darker side, as we’ve said, and it’s always nice for an actor to explore a darkness.

‘But, if it was purely written like that, I don’t think it would be much fun, because it would purely be a caricature. It’s not written like that; it’s written as a complex person.’

Meanwhile, Bhasker told us of his sadness to leave Rishi behind.

‘I’ll miss working with the Emmerdale family, they are a great bunch to work with and I learnt a lot as well, it gives you a brilliant profile and when Rishi died, the response online made me cry!’ he said.

‘I thought I would stay there for a couple of years more and get a sabbatical and work elsewhere!

‘You become a family so when they give you something you just do it. Once I had to strip off in the factory and you just did it!

Laura Shaw said on my last day “the thing about you Bhasker, whatever we throwed at you as Rishi, you did it” and I think that’s all, as an actor, that you want.’

Emmerdale fans reckon they have figured out if Mack Boyd (Lawrence Robb) saved Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) and Chloe Harris (Jessie Elland) from potential death.

An hour long episode left viewers on more of a cliffhanger than the characters themselves.

The mangled car fell over the edge of the quarry, with one person still inside – but someone got out thanks to Mack.

In the seconds before, a conflicted Mack looked between Chloe and Charity, both of whom had their hands outstretched desperately, and we saw a hand clasped in his.

He had pulled one of them free – but is it his fiancée and the mother of his baby, or his estranged wife and passionate fling?

Emmerdale is not confirming – and nor are we – but fans have inevitably been on the case.

And if their sleuthing is anything to go by, they are letting no evidence slip through.

Along with many being certain that Emmerdale wouldn’t go through with killing off Charity, two clues have been unearthed.

Some have spotted that the scene clearly showed Mack’s right hand, which they reason means he could only have legitimately saved Charity.

And the nails are much different to Chloe’s, whose were longer.

It has led them to the conclusion that Chloe must be the one who has gone over the edge.

Are they onto something? If so, it would be pretty tragic news for Chloe, although some are not ruling out her survival.

After all, super-strength Mack may have pulled both from a deadly fate.

Whatever happens, the consequences will be far-reaching. If Charity has been saved, Chloe may die – which would leave Reuben without a mum, and Mack full of guilt given they were meant to be starting a new life together.

If Charity has plunged to her death, Mack may live with (unfair) resentment towards Chloe, while she may never forgive him for his affair either.

If they both survive, there is still the matter of the infidelity to sort out and any physical and mental ramifications from the accident.

The show, the media and the cast are giving nothing away and fans will have to wait to find out if their theories hold water, but Emma Atkins recently told Metro.co.uk that no-one should assume they are safe, no matter how long they have been in the show.

‘Nobody’s invincible, the character has a shelf life and you always have to expect that your contract may not be renewed.

‘You’ve also got to accept that there is a life outside of Emmerdale and you have to be as fearless in that department as possible. I don’t like to assume because it makes you complacent.

‘I just think, “That’s great, another year under my belt and how wonderful to be playing a character that’s ever evolving, constantly learning, constantly making mistakes.”’

Emmerdale will air the outcome of the crash on Wednesday October 11 at 7:30pm on ITV.

Emmerdale spoilers for next week follow, with a first look at the drama to come above with a jam-packed picture gallery.

The ITV soap is currently playing out its Super Soap Week offerings, with a devastating car crash, featuring Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins), Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) and Chloe Harris (Jessie Elland), at the centre of it all.

Fans are no doubt eager to find out what happens next following the car going off the cliff and, while we’re keeping tight-lipped on that particular development, we can give you a first look at what’s on offer next week, with a tough time on the cards for Lydia Dingle (Karen Blick).

Lydia, who bravely opened up about her rape ordeal this week, is devastated to learn that Craig has been released pending further investigation.

Sam (James Hooton), meanwhile, confides in Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry), who stops by to see Lydia, who opens up and reveals what she’s going through.

Sam listens in, fuming that Craig may go unpunished as he goes to speak to Cain (Jeff Hordley), wondering if he can bring the rapist to justice, but just far will they go?

Amit (Anil Goutam), meanwhile, is pleased when Suni (Brahmdeo Shannon Ramana) asks him to stay, but the newcomer soon emotionally blackmails his son. Nicky Miligan (Lewis Cope) offers support, with Suni confiding in his beau about Amit’s secret, leaving him stunned. 

Things take a turn when Suni finds out that Caleb (William Ash) and Amit are having dinner, with the two businessmen sizing each other up, discussing their respective sons.

Amit questions Nicky’s relationship with Gabby, prompting him to make a swift exit. Caleb, meanwhile, is intrigued by a mention of Amit having skeletons in his closet.

Sounds like it’s going to be quite a week.

Emmerdale airs these scenes between Monday, October 16 and Friday, October 20 at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.

After weeks of suffering in silence, Lydia (Karen Blick) finally shared her pain with her loving family. But while all husband Sam (James Hooton) wants to do is help, things aren’t getting any better for Lydia in Emmerdale.

Lydia is unequivocally traumatised not only by the vicious rape but by the harassment vile Craig (Ben Addis) put her through in the weeks following it. Though telling her family has been a huge step forwards, it has not unburdened her one bit. She feels as isolated as ever.

Sam offers for the two of them to spend the day together but is left crushed when she turns him down. Instead, she turns to her coping mechanism of cleaning the house and Sam is once again out in the cold.

Sam feels completely lost and is afraid of what to say or do to help his wife. But things get worse when the police show up and destroy Lydia further – Craig has been released, pending further investigation.

Lydia is sent on another spiral and pushes Sam even further away. He’s at his wit’s end when Rhona (Zoe Henry) happens to pass by, and he spots an opportunity.

He invites Rhona back to the house where a defeated Lydia is sifting through crisis leaflets. Rhona sits with Lydia and gives her the space to talk to someone who understands, Rhona has been through this herself before.

Caleb’s (Will Ash) collecting enemies like bottle caps having survived his gripes with Kim Tate (Claire King) in Emmerdale, more recently having faced the terrifying saga of Harry (Robert Beck) and Chas (Lucy Pargeter), and now there’s a new guy in town stepping on Caleb’s patch.

He’s been distracted lately, harbouring humongous secrets from his mysterious road trip with Cain (Jeff Hordley) and returning to find Chas in unimaginable peril. He doesn’t see his next adversary coming until it’s far too late.

Amit arrives in town as a big shock to his two sons – Jai (Chris Bisson) and Suni, with Suni (Brahmdeo Shannon Ramana) having only just found out that he and Jai are in fact brothers. His arrival is controversial for that reason, as well as the fact Suni has been avoiding going home.

It’s not long before Amit upsets Suni with attempts to emotionally blackmail him, and Nicky is there to give his boyfriend a shoulder to cry on when it all becomes a bit much. But when Suni reveals the truth about what’s bothering him, Nicky is aghast.

Suni fills him in, but the next day, he is left concerned to learn Caleb and Amit are due to have dinner. Later that evening Nicky is nervous as he and his dad arrive at Holdgate.

This is where things immediately unravel for both Amit and Caleb. The two men take an instant dislike to each other, with dinner becoming incredibly awkward and Nicky and Suni praying certain things are not said.

The four of them eat together as the two dads start sizing each other up. Not a good sign. There’s tension in the air and things turn nasty when Amit starts probing Nicky’s relationship with Gabby (Rosie Bentham).

As the mood tanks, Caleb and Nicky make a dash for it. But while the evening might appear a disaster, Nicky gives Caleb a little nugget that may help him get Amit where he wants him – he lets Caleb know there’s a big secret hanging over his new enemy. Just the information he needs.

A major Emmerdale character has plunged over a cliff in a smashed up car in a shocking episode, with Mack Boyd (Lawrence Robb) only able to save one of his lovers from potential death.

Both Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) and Chloe Harris (Jessie Elland) were left teetering on the edge after a colossal crash.

Mack had to think fast and save someone before the vehicle tipped over the mammoth drop – but fans have been left more on edge than the car as the episode faded to black before revealing who had been pulled to safety.

The tragedy had unfolded after Chloe had clocked Mack holding Charity close.

They protested that they were just clearing the air and there remained no feelings between them, but this wasn’t washing with Chloe this time.

Having had enough of Mack, she kept up the act of heading to Scotland together, but planned instead to abandon the father of her baby on the moors.

A curveball was thrown in her plan when they spotted Charity broken down at the side of the country road and picked her up.

Chloe wasted no time in trying to make the situation as awkward as possible, causing them to squirm by declaring how much trust and happiness she and Mack have.

All the while she was thinking angry and vengeful thoughts in her head, deliberately missing the turn and winding up Charity about being alone.

As Charity started to realise that Chloe was putting on an act, she demanded to be let out of the car, but as they all bickered, another vehicle smashed into them, sending the car rolling at speed towards a cliff edge.

Mack emerged from the carnage and tried to stir unconscious Chloe and Charity before phoning the emergency services.

The enormity of the situation became clear when the car lurched and Mack saw the deadly drop to the bottom of the quarry.

Trying to hold the car back, Mack tried to comfort a now awake Charity as she freed her leg.

Chloe was in a panic when she came round and Mack insisted that they move slowly to get out together.

Chloe asked Mack to tell Reuben that she loves him but, as he assured her that she would be able to do that himself, the car gave way and within seconds, it would be gone.

In that time, Mack grabbed the hand of one of the women, while the other was sent falling to an uncertain fate.

Who Mack has saved will not be revealed until the next episode. And whether the other person has died is also unknown.

But whatever happens, this is a decision with far-reaching consequences beyond the crash, for all concerned.

Sam Dingle (James Hooton) was a man who wanted answers in Tuesday (October 10)’s episode of Emmerdale – answers about why his beloved wife Lydia (Karen Blick) had been avoiding his calls while he was away in Ireland and why she’d vanished from the village on his return.

Kim Tate (Claire King), who Lydia had previously confided in, knew exactly what was going on with her friend, but also knew it wasn’t her place to tell Sam the truth.

Viewers of course know that Lydia was raped by her former friend and current employer, Craig Reed (Ben Addis). After the attack, which happened at Craig’s office where Lydia works as a cleaner, he tried to make out that it had been consensual and they’d just given in to the passion they felt for each other.

A broken Lydia has been struggling with this secret ever since. With Craig twisting events and telling her it would be her word against his, she didn’t think anyone would ever believe her. Craig has managed to worm his way into the family, befriending Sam and giving Samson (Sam Hall) work experience at his business, making everyone believe he’s a lovely man.

Meanwhile Lydia has tried her best to hide her own pain, attempting to carry on as normal and breaking down only when she’s alone. It often got too much and she had to pretend to be ill to avoid going in to work. This soon made Mandy (Lisa Riley) suspicious and she became convinced that Lydia had been having an affair with Craig.

One of Lydia’s biggest fears and the reason she didn’t talk to Sam straight away about what happened was that she feared knowing what Craig did would change how Sam viewed her forever.

But in this episode, as she sat in a B&B away from the village unable to face her husband, she got a message from Sam – and it convinced her that it was safe to go back home. She found Belle (Eden Taylor-Draper) and Mandy with Sam and got them all to sit down because she had something to tell them.

Karen Blick has been brilliant throughout this storyline and she was brilliant again in these scenes as Lydia quietly explained what had happened. As she talked about Craig pinning her down on the sofa she was looking at Sam as if he was a lifeline.

She told them that she tried to go to the police and did actually talk to an officer, but couldn’t go through with it, fearing they wouldn’t believe her.

Belle gently said that they believed her. ‘You have no idea what that means to me,’ an emotional Lydia told her.

Belle and Mandy left Sam and Lydia on their own to talk, and of course Sam’s first impulse was to take his wife in his arms to comfort her – but she wasn’t ready for him to touch her.

Sam was incredibly sad that Lydia had been trying to deal with what happened on her own. ‘You put everyone else first, even now,’ he realised. Along with sorrow he was also angry that he’d unwittingly inflicted more pain on her by inviting Craig into their house on so many occasions.

‘We let him in our home. He sat at our table, acted like our friend,’ he remembered.

As his anger mounted, Lydia had some words of caution. ‘Promise me you won’t do owt stupid,’ she said. ‘Don’t go full Dingle on him – it’ll only make things worse.’

‘I need to do something,’ he said.

‘You are doing something,’ Lydia insisted. ‘Just being here is enough.’

But will it be enough for Sam? Or will he decide that the only way to deal with Craig is with some Dingle justice – which, as Lydia warned, will almost certainly end up making things worse?

Chris Bisson has teased marriage plans to his partner after a whopping 17 years together.

Emmerdale and Coronation Street star Chris has been with fiance Rowena for close to two decades, with the pair sharing two children: Harry and Ella Rose.

The couple have taken the term ‘taking things slowly’ to the next level, as they were engaged in 2016 – 10 years after first getting together – and no public plans for a wedding eight years after their engagement.

Soaps icon Chris appeared on Tuesday’s Loose Women, however, and it wasn’t long before he was grilled on his romantic life.

Janet Street-Porter noted he and Rowena had been together since 2006, with Chris proudly agreeing: ’17 years.’

‘It was our anniversary the other day,’ Chris said to applause from the audience.

Janet asked him straight out if next year – which marks his 15th year on Emmerdale – ‘might be the year you get married?’

To call the noise out of Chris’ mouth non-commital would be an understatement, as he shrugged, grinned, and went: ‘Ehhhhh.’

‘It took me 10 years to get engaged. So we’ve kind of set a deadline of 20 years to get married,’ he laughed.

‘I think I’ll have worked out whether I want to by then.’

Chris’ on-screen life as Jai in Emmerdale has proved far more dramatic when it comes to family, having recently uncovered that Rishi is not his biological father.

Soaps fans were shocked when Jai learned his Uncle Amit was in fact his biological father, and that he was the result of a hook-up between his mother and uncle – but that his father Rishi stepped up and raised him as his own.

Troubled Emmerdale character Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) has made a surprise return to the soap, after being revealed as the mysterious hostage in Cain Dingle’s (Jeff Hordley) barn.

The opening minutes of the episode on Monday night confirmed the identity of the unfortunate chap – as it transpired that Cain had bundled Aaron back from Italy after he robbed dangerous gangsters.

It follows Miller sparking speculation that he could make a return to the Dales, addressing the possibility at last month’s Inside Soap Awards when he said: ‘You never say never with soap!’

Clearly not. But for those less familiar with his character, who is Aaron Dingle and when did he originally leave Emmerdale?

Who is Aaron Dingle?

Aaron Dingle, also known as Aaron Livesy, is the son of Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) and Gordon Livesy, as well as being the half-brother of Liv Flaherty (Isobel Steele) and Grace and Eve Dingle.

The character has appeared on and off since 2003, originally being played by Danny Webb between 2003 and 2006 before Miller took over the role in 2008.

Aaron featured in many strong storylines throughout his tenure on the show, with viewers seeing him involved with the criminal McFarlane family, helping his boyfriend Jackson Walsh end his life after an accident left him quadriplegic, andcoming to terms with childhood abuse at the hands of his dad Gordon.

Danny also won particular praise for performances of scenes which saw Aaron come out as gay.

However it was his beloved relationship with Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) – leading to fans dubbing the couple ‘Robron’ – for which he is best remembered.

The relationship between Aaron and Robert captured a soap nation, with a fiery affair commencing while Robert was married to wife Chrissie.

There were some seriously turbulent times, as damaged Robert was implicated in the death of Katie, and also almost killed Paddy and Chas, as well as taking Aaron hostage.

One of the most controversial aspects of the story saw Rebecca White fall pregnant after she and Robert shared a drunken night of passion together.

This ultimately tore Aaron and Robert apart – but despite reuniting, their happiness was destroyed once more when Robert was jailed after killing sister Victoria (Isobel Hodgins)’s rapist Lee.

When did Aaron Dingle leave Emmerdale?

Aaron Dingle left Emmerdale in late 2021.

Following Robert’s incarceration, he suffered more tragedy after boyfriend Ben Tucker was murdered by serial killer Meena Jutla.

Initially his sister Liv was arrested for Ben’s murder, which led to him leaving the eponymous village for a fresh start.

Aaron returned for a brief appearance in 2022, coinciding with the soap’s 50th anniversary.

During his return he reconnected with Liv, and discovered his mum’s having an affair with Al (Michael Wildman) – leading to him cutting her out of his life.

He left the soap once again after the epic storm which swept the Dales resulted in Liv being crushed to death.

Miller has opened up about his return to the soap – and in particular the dark turn his character has taken in his time away.

While initially denying it to Cain, Aaron has committed a robbery worth tens of thousands, stealing from some very dangerous Italian gangsters – with Cain bundling him back to the UK for his own safety.

‘There’s a lot of times when I’m doing the scenes where I think the audience are going to hate this and hate me!’ he told Metro.co.uk, explaining that Aaron returns very damaged and very angry, lashing out at everyone.

‘It makes it interesting for a character to change. Hopefully the audience – as amazing as they’ve always been with Aaron – will see it as a self-destructive, self-loathing path he’s on as opposed to just doing it for no reason.

Emmerdale continues on Tuesday night on ITV at 7.30pm.

Chloe Harris (Jessie Elland) sets in motion her revenge in Emmerdale, offering Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) a lift back to the eponymous village after finding her broken down on the road.

Charity, as fans know, has been contemplating whether or not to inform Chloe about her one night stand with Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb), who she’s still madly in love with.

Mack urged her not to and the former lovers came to something of an understanding, agreeing to let one another move on, despite the fact that they still very much have feelings for each other.

Little did they know, however, that Chloe had overheard their conversation and therefore came to learn the truth. Struggling to process news, she opened up to Tracy Metcalfe (Amy Walsh), who revealed that she was ultimately able to forgive her own husband’s infidelity because of how much he loved her.

Chloe therefore resolved to forgive Mack, who subsequently gave Charity a goodbye hug ahead of his adventure with Chloe, who spotted the intimate moment.

Realising that Mack’s heart still lies with Charity, Chloe plots revenge, which she sets in motion in Tuesday’s (October 11) edition of the ITV soap after setting off on the road to Scotland.

Charity, meanwhile, has broken down, with Chloe coming along her and, with revenge on her mind, she insists that her love rival get in the car and that she’ll drive her home.

The above clip, taken from tonight’s episode, sees Chloe cause chaos, deliberately making Mack and Charity squirm as she discusses good and bad memories from her time in the village.

The expression on Charity’s face confirms that she’s starting to realise that Chloe knows more than she’s letting on and, soon enough, she makes it quite clear that she wants out.

Subsequent scenes, however, will see tragedy strike, with Chloe’s plan spiralling out of control and putting everyone’s lives in danger, with Mackenzie forced to make a choice between the two women in his life.

But who will he choose to save? And who will go plummeting to the depths below? You’ll just have to tune in to find out.

Emmerdale airs these scenes on Tuesday October 10 at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.

Emmerdale fans have issued a plea to bosses following the surprise return of Danny Miller to the role of Aaron Dingle.

This week, viewers discovered that the mystery man being held captive in a barn by Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) was the much missed Aaron, who was last seen in the show last year amid the death of his sister Liv.

Grieving Aaron has flown off the rails after being packed off to Italy by mum Chas (Lucy Pargeter), and has ended up in seriously hot water.

Having stolen a huge sum of money from dangerous gangsters, his life is on the line and he has been dragged home by Cain, helped by Caleb Miligan (William Ash).

Furious prisoner Aaron has been angrily lashing out, with Danny confirming that his alter-ego is in a dark place, looking for fights and not caring if he lives or dies.

It’s a heartbreaking place to find the character in, and a far cry from the happy days of his wedding to Robert Sugden.

Robert and Aaron – known to fans by the term Robron – seemed like a lost cause with both Danny and co-star Ryan Hawley no longer in the show.

However, viewers are seeing Danny’s permanent comeback as the first step to a reunion and have been begging Emmerdale to sign up another return.

Seems to be pretty unanimous! Get on it, Emmerdale!

This ultimately tore Aaron and Robert apart. After an eventual reunion, things were destroyed once more when Robert was jailed after killing sister Victoria’s rapist Lee.

After an emotional goodbye, Robert freed husband Aaron to live his life.

As it stands, Robert remains incarcerated – but could he return via early release or appeal?

Or even make a cameo if Aaron were to visit him? Let’s not rule it out!

At any rate, Danny is delighted to be back in the role.

He enthused to Metro.co.uk: ‘It’s been amazing. It’s like a new job for me because I see it completely differently. I’m very appreciative of the job, I’m very thankful to be back here and obviously I’ve got a family now that needs feeding!

‘It makes it a fun way to do that. And being around the corner – I’ve relocated here now which shows I want to commit to the show and show the audience how much I love it and how much respect and thanks I’ve got for it.’

Danny Miller marked his return to Emmerdale by spending the evening with former co-star Isobel Steele, who played his on-screen sister in the show, and our hearts couldn’t be any fuller.

Fans of the ITV soap were left in utter shock on Monday (October 9) when Aaron Dingle made an unannounced and very surprising return, with Danny reprising the role that made him a star.

Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley), as viewers know, was keeping a mystery hostage up at Wylie’s Farm. Moira’s (Natalie J Robb) interest was piqued by her husband’s suspicious behaviour and thus followed him, horrified to find out about the captive.

Fans had been desperately trying to work out who the mysterious prisoner was, with Monday’s offering of the serial drama, the first in Super Soap Week, confirming that it was none other than Aaron.

Aaron, who initially left the eponymous village in late 2021 shortly after boyfriend Ben Tucker’s (Simon Lennon) death, was last seen last year, when he returned as part of Emmerdale’s 50th anniversary.

The character was therefore present for the death of his beloved sister Liv Flaherty, who tragically died in the storm.

But while Liv and Aaron’s story is over, Isobel and Danny remain the best of friends, with the two having reunited ahead of the latter’s return to Emmerdale to spend the evening together.

‘What a way to spend my evening with my little sister on the return of Aaron @IsobelSteelee’, he wrote, posting a picture of the two all-smiles on his Instagram stories.

Discussing what fans can expect, Danny told Metro.co.uk: ‘There’s a lot of times when I’m doing the scenes where I think the audience are going to hate this and hate me!’

Things are complicated enough for Emmerdale’s Charity Dingle right now. Still harbouring feelings for her ex Mack Boyd (Lawrence Robb), she is hiding the secret that they slept together.

This was while he was with the mother of his baby – and the woman he initially cheated with – Chloe Harris (Jessie Elland).

Planning a new life with Chloe and Reuben, Mack is unaware that his girlfriend knows about his dalliance with Charity.

And Charity herself is going to be pulled into the mess when Chloe prepares to carry out her revenge, culminating in a potentially deadly car crash.

Amid all of this, there is further drama in the village, with a resident about to be devastated by a pregnancy bombshell.

Producer Laura Shaw told Metro.co.uk: ‘We all love a soap baby! We know that Dawn and Billy are pregnant and excitedly waiting for their baby, which is conveniently due around Christmas, as soap babies always are!

‘But we do have another baby that is joining us. This one won’t quite be the happy news of Billy and Dawn though, and it’s going to be a huge shock for one of our couples in Emmerdale.

‘It’s going to literally turn their lives upside down and result in a big fracture in what was once a very solid marriage. I’ll leave you to guess who that might be…’

Fans are already one step ahead – before this announcement was even made, many had been speculating that Charity would discover that she is carrying Mack’s baby, as if things weren’t already messy enough.

But, speaking to us recently, Emma Atkins seemed to put this theory to bed.

‘I haven’t heard anything and that would be news to me!’ she declared, adding: ‘I can’t even remember how many children I have in the show at the moment! I go: “Is it three? Is it four? Is it five?” That’s terrible! But no, I don’t think so.’

So, back to the drawing board on that score – others are wondering if long-suffering Lydia (Karen Blick) may get the life-changing news following her rape at the hands of Craig.

As for Charity, she may not even survive beyond this week, with her life hanging in the balance.

Emma warned that this could be the end of the line, telling Metro.co.uk: ‘Nobody’s invincible, the character has a shelf life and you always have to expect that your contract may not be renewed.

‘You’ve also got to accept that there is a life outside of Emmerdale and you have to be as fearless in that department as possible. I don’t like to assume because it makes you complacent.

‘I just think, “That’s great, another year under my belt and how wonderful to be playing a character that’s ever evolving, constantly learning, constantly making mistakes.”’
