Librans (born between September 23 and October 22) are known as one of the most charming, attractive, romantic, and desirable star signs – they are ruled over by the goddess of love herself, Venus.

That said, it’s not always plain sailing.

We all have flaws or sometimes get in our own way when it comes to relationships, and Libra’s indecision, people-pleasing tendencies and lust for life – despite this trait often being a positive – can be their undoing.

It’s certainly not worth changing who you are to attract a partner, but it can be handy to know where you go wrong (or when your date does) so you don’t make the same mistakes when you meet ‘the one’.

So with that in mind, here are the five ways that even pitch-perfect Libra can self sabotage on dates – and the pitfalls you might face when dating them.

Not even making it there

The first pitfall could come about before the date has even begun, because it’s not a foregone conclusion that Libra will make it on time (or at all).

Librans are laidback, easily distracted, a little bit (dare I say it) unreliable. Their mood can change, so can their options, and if something better pops along then Libra is going to jump ship.

If your Libra is late, forgive them but tell them it’s rude. If they don’t turn up, then ditch the whole thing (they already ditched you).

Flirting with other people

Yup, Libra can’t help it. Flirting is like breathing for them and if someone attractive is giving them the eye then they’re almost helpless to resist. This could also include scrolling through whatever dating app they’re on (or multiple ones… it’s likely that Libra has a membership to multiple apps).

It’s not meant to be rude, it’s not meant to be hurtful. It’s a reflex reaction! Romance is life. Flirting is non-negotiable. Living with your Libra’s flirty behaviour is just something you’ll have to deal with.

Coming off as insincere

The flipside of Libra’s famous tact and diplomacy is that they can shape-shift to mirror and match whoever they’re with, agreeing vehemently with what’s being said and echoing the sentiments to a T. It can then come as a shock to people to observe, later, that Libra can agree and concur just as vehemently with someone else about what appears to be an opposing view.

This comes off as phony or shady, but it’s not meant maliciously – they just like an easy life and will go along with the flow. Don’t take this one too seriously. They do, when pushed, know their own mind! They just don’t want a row or to cause any offence.

Being ‘too perfect’

Libra is ruled by Venus and aesthetics matter! They spend a lot of time, effort, and money on looking and feeling good. They love harmonious, luxurious, and pleasing environments and company. Libra is not looking to ‘slum it’, thank you, and if you think that taking them to McDonalds will pass as a dinner date then you’re in for a rude awakening. Their glacially poised diplomacy may falter!

You might think it’s snobby but they just have high standards about what they do and where they go. If you’re not interested in any aspect of living ‘the good life’ then a Libra partner might not be the one for you.

Procrastinating over what to do

Libra’s biggest issue is procrastination. They are indecisive people. They can see all sides of any decision or situation. They love analysis. They want a fair outcome. And delivering all of this can take an awful lot of dithering and delaying. A simple ‘what would you like to do?’ can turn (I’m not kidding) into a three-hour text ping pong.

This can drive some people round the bend and is a dealbreaker. Some can cope with it. Some can take advantage of it and push Libra around to do whatever they want to do (and this will play along for a while, but not forever).
