Buildings around the world have been lit up with the blue-and-white flag of Israel in a show of solidarity following the shock attack by Hamas last weekend.
Landmarks in London, Brussels and Berlin were among those picked for the display, which comes after hundreds of people were killed by terrorists who crossed the border from Gaza.
Leaders including Rishi Sunak and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky have expressed their support in the days following the incursion on Saturday morning.
In a video posted to X, formerly Twitter, Zelensky told Ukrainians in Israel to ‘take care of yourself and others around you’.
An accompanying message said: ‘Israel has the full right to defend itself against terror. As any other state. And it’s critical that the whole world responds to terror in a unified and principled manner.’
The deaths of two Ukrainian citizens in the country have since been confirmed, and an image of the Israeli flag was put on a large screen on a Kyiv street corner last night.
Bulgaria’s parliament in Sofia and the European Commission headquarters in Brussels were also illuminated by the flag and its Star of David.
Last night, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak posted an image of the flag being projected on Downing Street online, accompanied by a supportive message.

In a video, he said: ‘Now is not the time for equivocation, and I’m unequivocal.
‘Hamas, and the people who support Hamas, are fully responsible for this appalling act of terror, for the murder of civilians and for the kidnapping of innocent people, including children.’
Meanwhile, the US has already begun sending military supplies to Israel after several American citizens were confirmed to have died in the attacks.
Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin said USS Gerald R Ford aircraft carrier, a missile cruiser, four missile destroyers and a number of fighter jets were on their way to the country.
In a phone call to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, President Joe Biden said: ‘We stand ready to offer all appropriate means of support to the government and people of Israel.’
