Lacey promo in Hollyoaks, taken at the folly

Hollyoaks is lining up another huge exit, with Lacey Lloyd (Annabelle Davis) set to leave the eponymous village shortly after getting a new job.

The lawyer, as viewers know, has been struggling to cope in the wake of Rayne Royce’s (Jemma Donovan) demise.

Rayne was murdered at her own party last month when one vengeful attendee decided to take action after the influencer’s secrets were exposed.

Lacey, who was Rayne’s best friend, was horrified when she found out that Brent Taylor (Jesse Fox) was still alive, with Rayne having previously claimed that he’d taken his own life, cruelly allowing Lacey to believe that she was to blame for his suicide.

When the truth was revealed, Lacey commented how it’s Rayne who should be dead, which proved to be the last thing she’d ever say to her so-called best friend, who was subsequently found dead in the swimming pool at the Manor House.

Lacey has struggled to process both her discovery and Rayne’s death, realising that Rayne had simply used her for likes, thus calling their entire friendship into question.

Nadira Valli (Ashling O’Shea), meanwhile, has been there to support Lacey in the aftermath of the ordeal and she makes it quite clear in upcoming episodes that she will continue to be there for her.

Lacey, however, continues to struggle, and with Brent set to confess to Rayne’s murder, Nadira encourages her girlfriend to move on, but animosity soon ensues between the lovers.

After time to cool off, Lacey brings Nadira flowers and apologises for her behaviour.

But she also brings news with her, revealing that she’s bagged herself a new job. The question is: is this job in the village?

Or will it be further afield, thus meaning that an exit is on the cards?

It appears to be the latter, with subsequent scenes seeing Lacey depart, with Nadira pushing everyone away in the aftermath.
