With balmy temperatures and sunny skies out in full force, it’s the perfect opportunity to make the most of the final days of summer with a glass of rosé in your garden or local park.

And if Provençal rosés are your thing, an expert has shared a wallet-friendly one that should be on your radar.

Wine expert Lucy Hitchcock, from Partner In Wine, has shared a bottle available for £6.99 at Aldi that tastes ‘just like Whispering Angel’ – which typically retails for £26.

That’s a £19 saving on the bottle of rosé, which is made with samsó, grenache and syrah grapes.

It’s worth pointing out that this budget-friendly supermarket rosé, called Specially Selected Coteaux De Beziers, is made in the Languedoc-Roussillon region of France – which is not in the typical Provence region.

This explains the lower price tag but Lucy stresses that the flavour profile is incredibly similar.

Lucy says in her TikTok and Instagram video: ‘I’m getting this really vibrant burst of red berries. I can smell strawberries, and maybe raspberries.

‘Wow. It’s got this amazing crisp acidity that you would expect from a Provence-style rosé.’

This isn’t the only time Lucy has helped us bag a bargain. In fact, she’s made a name for herself for finding cheaper alternatives to luxury drinks.

Last year, she explained that Aldi’s £8.99 bottle of Cremant-du-jura is very similar to Laurent-Perrier – but is around £33 cheaper.
