Cheeto looked sorry for himself but was finally given some food (Picture: Mega)

They used a pair of hedge clippers to free Cheeto who then gratefully ate some food and drank lots of water.

Shelter owner Tom Walsh said Cheeto was likely to be ‘right down to the wire’ and wouldn’t have survived much longer.

He’s now recovering from his ordeal and looking for a permanent home.

He’s believed to be a Great Pyrenees and German shepherd cross, around 18 months old and has a few health issues.

The charity is asking for help paying for Cheeto’s medical bills.
